This guide explains how to set up a customer SMTP server for sending emails through the Student Caring service.
This feature does not apply to simulated phishing emails, which will continue to be sent through the platform's default channels.
The feature is available only to users with an ADMIN role.
The customer will need to provide the following configuration parameters by writing to the dedicated address support@cyberguru.eu:
-
SMTP Host: Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the mail server
-
SMTP port: port used (25, 587, etc.)
-
SMTP Username: Username to contact the SMTP server
-
SMTP Password: Password for the username
Once these parameters are provided, Cyber Guru will configure the SMTP server in the customer's tenant.
Before enabling the service, joint tests between Cyber Guru and the customer will be required to verify the correct handling of emails by the configured server, as well as sending and receiving by the recipient.
WARNING
When using a custom SMTP server, it will not be possible to use the default sender addresses with the @cyberguru.eu domain.
Instead, it will be necessary to specify an authorized sender address for sending, belonging to the customer's domain or a validated domain.
