Within Company Management in the Setup > Awareness (Channel) section, you can remove a path that has already been associated.
By clicking on the three dots in the actions column, you’ll see two options:
- Remove association: lets you remove the path associated at the company level. However, this action does not affect users who already have the path assigned (their history is not impacted).
- Remove association and reset progress (USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION): this procedure allows you to remove a training path already assigned to a company and at the same time delete all user progress on that path (including badges). Warning: this action is permanent. The training data for affected users cannot be recovered. If you only want to deactivate a path without losing data, do not use this procedure.
This action can be applied to:
- the entire population of the company, or
-
just a subset of users, by filtering for an organization category (e.g., "Department" → "IT", "HR"). If you want to remove the path from multiple categories (e.g., "Department=IT" and "Location=Milan"), repeat the procedure for each one.
After verifying the path name and scope (this is your last chance to catch any mistakes), click "Confirm" (or to cancel: "Cancel").
Path removal actions are available for
- MSP Role (on their own companies)
- Company admin role
- LibraCyber internal role
If the button isn’t visible, your profile doesn’t have the required permission. In that case, please contact support.
When to use it (examples)
- A path was assigned by mistake
- The client requests to reset progress and start over on a path (e.g., after a mass reassignment of users or a change in contract scope)
- A pilot path is discontinued because it’s being replaced by a new one and you don’t want non-representative data in reports
What happens after you confirm
- The window closes.
- A green notification appears at the top: "Path removal and progress reset started for N users." (N is the exact number of affected users).
- The path table reloads automatically: the removed path is no longer listed.
- The operation continues in the background: the system processes batches of 100 users at a time. For large companies, it may take a few minutes before all data is fully cleared from reports and dashboards.
If an error appears
- Red warning "Unable to remove the path or reset user progress. Please try again." → try the operation again. If it keeps happening, contact support and include the company name, path name, selected scope, and the time of the attempt.
- Error "No users assigned" → the selected scope doesn’t include any users who actually have the path assigned.
What actually gets deleted
For users included in the selected scope:
- User-path assignment (the user will no longer see the path in their Training Plan).
- Path enrollments (the SCORM/Rustici session is revoked).
- Assertions and progress (time spent, completions, quiz results).
- Badges earned for that path (revoked via the Badge service).
For users outside the scope (e.g., from other organizations when you chose Option B): no impact, they keep the path and their progress.
The path itself is not deleted: it remains in the catalog and can be reassigned later to another company (or the same one)—but users will start from scratch.
IMPORTANT: the data is also deleted from reporting. Downloaded reports—for users affected by the deletion—will not show scores or completions related to the content that was just removed.
7. FAQ
Q. Can I undo the removal after clicking "Confirm"?
A. No. Once confirmed, the job starts and the deletion is irreversible. To make the path available again, you’ll need to reassign it, but previous training data will still be lost.
Q. How long does it take?
A. The job processes batches of 100 users at a time. As a guideline: companies with fewer than 500 users finish in a few minutes; larger groups take longer. The client dashboard may not update immediately.
Q. What does the end user (the student) see?
A. On their next login, they won’t see the path in their courses anymore. They don’t receive any specific notification about the operation.
Q. If I reload the page before it’s finished, does the operation stop?
A. No. The operation is asynchronous and runs on the server side.
Q. Can I use this procedure for a path that hasn’t been assigned yet?
A. No. The "Remove and reset progress" option only appears for paths that are actually assigned to the company.
Q. Can I filter by multiple organization categories in a single run?
A. No, only one category per run. If you need multiple cross-filters, you’ll need to repeat the process.
Q. What happens to certificates that have already been issued?
A. Badges are revoked by the Badge service. PDF certificates already downloaded by users remain in their possession but are no longer linked to an active path in the system.
Q. What if I want to delete a path that’s no longer associated?
A. You’ll need to re-associate that path with the company so you can proceed with the operation. Of course, to avoid creating new user-content associations, don’t assign it to existing users or release content. This is just to enable the disassociation/removal feature again.
Q. What if I want to delete a prerequisite path for another path?
In addition to the usual data that will be deleted, the prerequisite link with the next path will also be removed.
