This article provides a detailed explanation of how scoring works within the Cyber Guru platform, across its various programs and training modules.
The information provided here is based on a standardized proposition of the Cyber Guru training plans.
Scoring in Cyber Guru Awareness Modules (School)
-
✅ End-of-Lesson Test:
-
1 point for each correct answer, but only on the first attempt.
-
Per lesson: 0–4 points.
-
Per module (composed of three lessons): 0–12 points.
-
If you complete all 12 questions in the module correctly (regardless of attempts), you earn a virtual badge (medal) and a 3-point bonus.
- If you fail, you must retake the test (passing threshold 75%).
-
-
🏆 “Cup” Test (at the end of the quarter):
-
10 questions.
-
1 point for each correct answer.
-
Test is one-time and non-repeatable.
-
If you answer all correctly, you earn a virtual cup and a 5-point bonus.
- If you fail, you can still continue with the training path.
-
Team Gamification
-
The team score is calculated as the ratio between the sum of the scores acquired by all team members and the number of team members. This scoring method allows any team, regardless of its size, to compete with others.
-
Even if you change teams during the year (e.g., due to company restructuring), your performance transfers to the new team.
Gamification in the Cyber Campus
The Cyber Campus includes various types of learning objects (Learning Objects - LO), each with specific scoring rules.
Each interaction provides a number of shields based on the outcome of the interaction itself, which can be: correct / partially correct / incorrect.
| LO Type | Interactions | Shields for Correct Answer | Shields for Partially Correct Answer | Shields for Wrong Answer | Max Shields | Passing Threshold |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| WarmUp | 5 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 10 | 7 |
| DidActive | 5 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 15 | 10 |
| Cyber Insights | 4 | 1 | N/A | 0 | 4 | 3 |
| Cyber Game | various puzzles | up to 30 | penalties for hints or time expired | penalties for mistakes | 30 | N/A |
-
Only the first attempt counts towards the shield score.
-
Reaching the condition of excellence (maximum number of shields) allows you to earn a course completion badge (open badge) and bonus points.
| LO Type | Base Points (from shields) | Bonus Points (badge) | Maximum Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| WarmUp | 0–10 | +5 | 15 |
| DidActive | 0–15 | +5 | 20 |
| Cyber Game | 0–30 | / | 30 |
| Cyber Insights | 0–4 | +1 | 5 |
Cyber Guru Channel
The Cyber Guru Channel courses consist of series and narrative episodes.
Currently, they do not contribute to the gamification system.
Cyber Guru Phishing
Each organization can choose to add/subtract points for clicking on and/or reporting a phishing template.
For example
-
-1 / -2 points for clicking on simulated attacks.
-
+1 / +2 points for correctly reporting a simulated attack.
The scores associated with phishing are visible to the user on the platform only AT THE END of the campaign for more effective data consolidation.
For organizations with the PhishPRO package, the gamification system can also be extended to other types of attacks.
